Caldo de Cana!!! mmm so very tasty after a long day of cycling. I'll be sorry to leave it behind in Brazil. It is a machine that crushes the sugar cane to make you a fresh squeezed shugar juice that is often mixed with lemon or pinapple. I have fortunately been frequently been passing roadside stands on my ride through Brazil. *

Despite the tourist hoards the falls really shine through and captivated me. It helps that the weather is fantastic as well. *

I am very happy not to be the one leading the climb. Flavio was amazing clinging to the rock like spiderman. *

Climbing the Pao de Açucar with Flavio late in the day. In fact by the end of the climb it was dark. But it was very nice to see the sunset as we were climbing and I was clinging to the rock thinking "where are the cracks? this is crazy". *

They showered me with gifts from their shop. A bombilla, mate cup, baseball cap and 1kg bag of Mate. It was very nice but it is heavy and I am going to have to go on a mate drinking binge to lighten my load. *

Smashing some very delicious roasted Pinhão with Clodoaldo at my return to the very cold Curitiba. They taste a lot like roasted chesnuts. *

On the way to the edge of town to drive Maria home I saw this amazing sight. I asked Arturo to stop and I jumped out of the car to take this picture of a Bicycle shop receiving hundreds of new rims and sending out completed wheels with spokes and hubs. *

Arturo my very knowlegable tour guide in São Paulo. He lead me on a wild cycling tour of the cities treacherous streets and beautiful very expensive neighbourhoods. *

In São Paulo most apartment buildings have a security guard at the door. But this security tower caught my eye because it was not the first I saw. *

São Paulo´s filthy river, An unfinished building due to poor financing and if you look very closely in the bottom left corner on the grass there is a capivara. *

Fruta do Conde, My host in Rio André Ilha absolutely loves this fruit and I was easily convinced of its deliciousness. *

We got to the top and it was dark but the view of Copacabana at night was still spectacular. *

Enjoying my grilled chees and Coco verde at Ipanema beach... this was truely an ideal place to relax and forget about cycling for a little bit. *
