Panama's coffee growing region is almost all owned by Duran Coffee. The employees all get company built housing that looks pretty nice.

A nice glowing moment around the fire, the candle, after enjoying a well earned rest day. This picture took several tries because we couldn't stop laughing for the 10sec of posing in the low light.

Hennessy hammocks, eat your heart out! Gwendal and Tania try and try, but hammock bug netting is harder a task than it seems. there's the seal and there's the seal and ending up in the hammock! This was the volunteered third floor of the local fire brigade building, in Sona. even easier than perfectly spaced palm trees!

It's a rare orange bird, it's a flying tricycle, it's nea-poli-TANIA! she's got the trailer (bike box) without panniers (for now) and that attracts much attention from most Panamanians thus far. plus notice the stakes used for the "finca" (farm) fence, they can't help but keep growing in this lush tropical ecosystem. did I mention hot and swealtering?

Yippeeeee. some downhilling. I'm just about to close my mouth and put my sunnies on for this almost-dusk stretch because otherwise my face will finish up like a radiator grid after driving the Coquihalla mid-summer.

This, my hommage to my favourite cartoon strip (it's more than just a cartoon if you are even aware of it's impact...): Tintin. he makes a propeller for his crashed biplane in the Congo, Africa, out of a whole tree with his pocket opinel (likely). I settled for a toothpick!

my lazy left eye, that always happens on close-ups of me! After watching Gwendal test the fruit (tasty if you like unripe persimmons), we witnessed his lips morph to dark purple as he tried biting into the cashew outer cover... that's how we like to learn here in the sometimes unintuitive tropical world. He ended up toasting the "single" cashew nut for over an hour to redeem his nutty acumen!

this is what happens when your MacGyver-response is challenged most days except this particular moment when Gwendal had to invent something to manipulate/make/¿decorate!?...

Finding Tania's new bike in Panama city. There was a lot of very cheap Chinese bikes... but eventually we tracked down something the would handle the road home.

Once we landed ashore I cycled with Carlos from the Caribean to the Pacific in one day. I was so excited to see the famous Panama canal... and this gigantic car freighter.
